Getting In Shape Update

I've actually managed to remain pretty consistent in my workouts over the past month and a half, which brings a smile to my face. Last week I ran 3 miles in 35:50, something I have not done in a long time. It felt really good. Today, I reduced my mile run from running around a 12:00 minute pace to 10:40 today! :) I was thinking of attempting to make it under 10:00 minutes, but decided to be patient. that day will come soon enough. But I didn't stop with just the mile and did a mixture of walking and running for 33 minutes today.

It's nice to know that if you remain consistent, your body will catch up to your goals and you feel better about yourself. :)

It's been a while

I've just loved those two pictures on this blog and haven't wanted to update on anything in the past month. This Saturday we celebrate Ava's 1st month in existence here on Earth. She's been absolutely wonderful and truly a blessing in our lives. We love her dearly and are actually getting decent sleep at night. It's been nice seeing Ava get used to sleeping (for the most part) at night. no other update at this time. life is grand.

Ava Simone is Born

Our little baby girl, our firstborn, is here, and we love her dearly. The Lord has blessed our lives with a beautiful girl. Ava Simone was born at 3:10pm on Wednesday, May 3, 2006. She is 7 lbs 13 oz and 20 inches long. She is ADORABLE! We are so happy.

Jaime is doing well. She is at the hospital and will be there until tomorrow resting and recuperating. The labor went well, though painful. The labor lasted four hours in total from when the water was broken until the baby was born. Jaime made it through very well. I am very proud of her effort. She is amazing.

We're very thankful to the Lord for this great blessing in our lives, and hope we can be equal to the task of raising her up in righteousness.

Medias, The Town of My Childhood

I love Medias, Romania. I really do. I have great memories of living there (none of my memories have my father in them; I think my mind has repressed those memories). I remember exploring the town by walking and taking the bus around. I lived on the north side of the river Mures and crossed over to the south side on a pedestrian bridge built to bring the poorer people who lived in apartment blocks on the north side across the river without having to walk all the way down to where the street bridge was, about half a mile or so up the river. I have a picture of that somewhere, and when i get a chance, i'll put it up here.

In any case, this guy on Webshots.com has taken a number of great pictures of Medias, and I wanted to put some up here. :)

Beautiful Mountain Drive

I just went on one of the most beautiful mountain drives that I've been on in a long time. Probably not since my drives to Alaska. I went up to the Shickshinny Lake region to see about a property we might be interested in buying and putting a house down on....i drove down this area. So beautiful!

yeah, i'd like a house next to the Lake Shickshinny. :)
